Hey guys I just had epiphany (I think) on how to make our collaborative project something everyone could participate in.
Have you ever seen that science show called Connections. It takes an invention and chronicles how that inventions lead to another invention which lead to another and so on. Let's do our own Connections.
Layne and Sarah are working on the Biography of Scientist and what they are known for. With Sarah's emphasis on the quality of the biography and Layne's on the content and engaging them with building it into a website.
What if Cynthia worked with her connection for this project by having them write about how the scientist's inventions or discoveries that Layne is covering from the period she is currently in affected history during that time period. (Help me with more specific's Cynthia) Their papers could be added to the website for students to see how it related to the past.
What if Bill and James looked at some of those scientist and made some connections with how that effected Electronics today or Engineering. (James help me with the specific's). The papers could be added to the website for students to see how it related to the present or could relate to the future.
What if Mary's Multimedia 1 Academy classes created a visual flow chart for each connection that you guys come up with that could be placed on the website for the visual learners.
My students will create the main collage image of the scientist and their inventions or discovery's for the website for the visual learners.
What do you think? I will be added this to the blog and would love it if you replied there.
I like it Sherry. In fact I'm thinking that depending on who the kids pick to do their biographies on that I could perhaps have the kids recreate something related to their discoveries or inventions. I'll develop this thought more as they progress and we have some names to work with, but I think this is a good brainstorm to start.
ReplyDeleteWonderful idea, I put it out for just that brainstorming. Could we get the others to put their input in please?
