A couple of thoughts to share with everyone.
1. With the school year starting and the academy being so new we really need to meet with the kids parents and go over what is happening with the academy. At that time we can also show them what they can do to help their kids. I was thinking that an opportune time to do that would be to have a "light" bbq before back to school night. I was thinking I would make some tri-tip, baked potatoes and maybe a green salad. It would also be some good advertising too as other parents and kids come by and wonder why they get free food!
2. If the above can happen then I would like to be ready by then to show them the kids on the tablets, have the calendar up with stuff on it, and have at least some collaborative projects/assignments to share with them. Can we do it be Sept. 10th?
I think it is a great idea and I am willing to help by bringing some food. I can also help with calling the parents and letting them know. Have we cleared it with Admin? I can help with that as well.
ReplyDeleteDo you think just the tri-tip is sufficient? Should we expand the menu to hamburgers, hot dogs, etc?
ReplyDeleteLayne I think that would be a good idea, I'm just trying for simplicity and cheap- we don't have any funds from anywhere that would cover this kind of activity.
