Meeting Sept. 13th 2010

Meeting was held after school from 3:00 to 4:30 (We have had three meetings before this but this was the first one I could get the time to enter on the blog)

Meeting Minutes:

The Awards meeting at back to school night should have the following agenda:

Introductions (including admin and teachers)

What the academy is all about (purpose- Stockdale)

also welcome the new academy members

show last year field trip videos

internships (invite parents to help network)

share data about CAHSEE results from last year

Admin welcome and discussion from Betsy Mckinstry

Student awards from last year.

Names were discussed for whom to receive awards from last year's activities

Stoles were discussed for next years graduating class. We want something that will make the students stand out. The stoles will be white satin with gold DDAE on one side and up to 5 gold stars on the other. (Sort of like a 5 star general effect).

Star 1- At least 24 hours total of community service

Star 2- GPA of 3.5 or above, accumulative

Star 3-Perfect attendance in any of the years as an Academy student

Star 4- Being in the Academy all three years

Star 5-Positive Internship completed.

 
Field trips were discussed including small groups vs. large, transportation options, which schools, etc


Teachers were encouraged to check in on the blog and we reviewed what had been added as well as discussed adding teaching moments
