Universal Studios Parents Letter

Dear Academy Parents,

The Digital Design and Engineering Academy is happy to announce its field trip plans for the 2nd semester of the 09-10 school year. We will be going to Universal Studios on April 29th, 2010! The emphasis of this trip will be a collaborative lesson plan on how the eye perceives 3D. This applies across the academy and will benefit each of the students involved.
The school will be covering the cost of the charter bus to transport students, subs for the chaperones, and admission to Universal Studios. Students will only be asked to provide food or money for food, more information about departure and arrival will be upcoming. The school portion of costs will add up to approximately $100 per student. As such, the students will be expected to meet a few criteria to remain eligible for the trip.

1. Students must have a GPA of at least 2.16 as of grade checks 1 week prior to leaving on the trip.
2. Students must maintain a GPA that is at least equal to their GPA of last semester if higher than 2.16.
3. Students must participate in the homeroom CAHSEE prep activities.
4. Students must attend at least 1 Saturday school before the CAHSEE on March 16th. These will be special sessions specifically prepared to help students pass the exam. (they may attend more if they would like)
5. Finally, students must return this letter signed to their homeroom teachers or Academy Coordinator.
