Last Saturday about 5-6 of our kids attended Sat. school with Mr. McWhorter and began the online program in Math and English. One of the kids finished an entire unit that day, and all of them were well introduced to using the program. Many more kids indicated they will be coming after the 3 day weekend.
Homeroom prep began today as well. I traded homerooms with McWhorter and he got all of the engineering side online and signed into an account. We will start practice with them tomorrow and begin their prep. It went well and looks as though this program will offer some real results.

I have asked Scott to look into purchasing some English version of this and let us have some licenses for it. James when are the DD kids expected McWhorter to come into Layne's room?

ReplyDeleteThe license does come with access to Math and English [both of the subjects tested on the CAHSEE]. Another benefit is that any registered student can use the program at any time on any computer or web-enabled device. The program also keeps track of their progress and automatically generates homework assignments specific to each student's needs for improvement.

ReplyDeleteMcWhorter, I'm thinking of offereing credit to students for completing aspects of this program. I was thinking of having the students make a print out for me and receiving credit that way. What type of information can be found on the print out, exactly?
