End of Year Celebration
As we discussed in our meeting yesterday, we should start thinking of our end of year celebration. Specifically, we need to run a list of awards (Sherry said they can handle making pretty certificates) that we want to hand out. I am not thinking of doing something for every kid (this isn't elementary school and that would be laborious), but I would like to have a fair number of awards. Please post ideas of awards that you think would be appropriate, then we can get together and vote on winners.

I spoke with one of our parents today of a new applicant for next year. He is excited for his child and wanted to meet the teachers and other students in the academy. I suggested he attend our award ceremony in May. How would everyone else feel about that?
ReplyDeleteThat sounds fine for me. When are we thinking about doing this? If we have an idea, then I'll schedule my volleyball banquet on a different night.
ReplyDeleteOn a different note, here are some ideas for awards:
-highest GPA
-biggest improvement
-best attendance
-teacher awards (each teacher gets to give an award)
-Overall award (we all vote on one student)
-maybe best project award (thinking Sherry and James taking this one and doing it on a project in their class)
I'm liking the suggestions Sarah. We were thinking middle of May, after AP tests, but before finals mania.
